Four-time winner of the World Solo Drumming Championship, and winner of Champion of Champions, John is recognised today as a premier master of the Scottish snare drum.
A native of Northern Ireland, John moved to Scotland in the early 1970's. He played for a number of years in Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia Pipe Band, under his mentor, Alex Duthart, the Father of the modern Scottish drum corps music.
Scullion led the Shotts drum corps to its first top-finish at the World Pipe Band Championships. In 1991 he joined the world-famous Scottish Power Pipe Band, and over the course 11 years they won several championships.
John continues to be an admired teacher, performer, and a much sought-after judge of drumming and bagpipe competitions worldwide.
John is a prolific composer of band and solo drum scores, and has released the long-awaited, "The Fairly Together Programme 2nd edition".
